Outstanding volunteers sought for recognition

The Brick Chamber of Commerce has announced that they are now accepting nominations for their Distinguished Citizens Awards. These awards are presented for consistent and outstanding voluntary contributions, and are given in three different categories:

• Distinguished Individual: a person who performs outstanding community service through their volunteer activities.

• Distinguished Business: a business that consistently gives extraordinary support to projects that benefit the community.

• Distinguished Organization: a non-profit organization that excels in their volunteer activities and service.

Louise Youmans of Travel Universal, a member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, is chairing this community program.

Michele Eventoff, the chamber’s executive director, said, "Some of these people may be your neighbors or co-workers. They are often difficult to recognize because they ask for no credit and little thanks. They spend countless hours on behalf of others, and they touch many lives with their dedication and involvement."

Nominations may be mailed to the Chamber of Commerce office at 270 Chambers Bridge Road, Brick, NJ 08723 by August 1. Include your name, address and phone number as well as the name, address and phone number of the nominee, and a written statement of support outlining the nominee’s activities and accomplishments.

A special awards dinner to recognize these "community heroes" will be held in December. For more information, call (732) 477-4949.
