ALO hosts Barnegat Bay seining programs

On July 17 and August 14, Alliance for a Living Ocean, and The Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences will host "Barnegat Bay Seining Days." The program will be held at The Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences in Loveladies from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Seining is a technique using a net drawn through the water to sample the organisms in that water body.

This program is a fun, hands-on opportunity for adults and children over age 5, to examine and learn about the creatures living in Barnegat Bay and its surrounding wetlands.

Tickets are $20 per child and participating adult; adults not participating are free.

Tickets can be purchased by calling Alliance for a Living Ocean at (609) 492-0222, or at the ALO Environmental Center at 2007 Long Beach Boulevard in North Beach Haven.
