Program to offer ‘home alone’ tips to children

The Center for Kids & Family at Community Medical Center’s Cory Building, 599 Highway 37 west, Toms River, will present a latch-key program called "Home Alone," Dec. 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The three-hour course is designed for children ages 8 to 13. Participants will learn what to do if they are home alone and receive a hang-up call, or how to handle a stranger at the door. In addition, topics such as basic safety tips as well as first aid, fire safety and handling emergency situations in the home will be presented.

The program fee is $10 and participants are asked to bring a snack. Call (732) 505-KIDS to register.
