The Shore Track and Field Officials Association will run its Cadet Officials courses starting Jan. 26 in Red Bank and Brick Township. Candidates need to provide two letters of reference as to why they would be good officials and $13 for its rules and casebooks. A sincere interest in working with high school athletes is a must, although no prior experience in track and field or cross country is required. The course will run about six weeks culminating in a national exam that costs $5.
