Township to host photography contest

The Brick Township Department of Parks and Recreation is hosting a contest for amateur photographers and the winning submission will be used on the cover of the 2010-11 Parks and Recreation brochure.

Ocean County College (OCC), Toms River, is offering the following day trips:

•Discovery” Titanic Artifact Exhibition in Times Square, 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 2. Cost: $89.

• Chocolate Covered February with buffet lunch at The Hotel Hershey’s Circular Dining Room, 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 6. Cost: $139.

Benefit concert for FoodBank Jan. 30

The Ocean Grove Area Chamber of Commerce will present the seventh annual benefit concert for the FoodBank of Monmouth & Ocean Counties on Jan. 30 at the Ocean Grove Youth Temple, Pilgrim Pathway and McClintock Street, Ocean Grove. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Tin Can Sailors will meet Feb. 9

The Tin Can Sailors of New Jersey will meet at Denny’s Restaurant, 25 Brick Blvd., Brick, at 12:30 p.m., Feb 9. All U.S. Navy veterans are welcome, especially former destroyer sailors. For more information, call Bucky at 732-279-0436.

Lions Club will visit Showboat Casino
