      Expo targets health, fashion, lifestyles

      The second annual Women’s Expo, sponsored by Oldies 100 WJRZ-FM and Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Browns Mills, will be held Feb. 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Quality Inn, Route 37 west, Toms River. The expo is free to the public and will focus on issues ranging from lifestyles and livelihoods to health and fashion.

      Exhibitors will distribute literature, answer questions and give away coupons and product samples while supplies last. This year’s event will also include drawings for prizes, a fashion show and a special appearance by Vincent Irizarry, who plays Dr. David Hayward on the TV soap opera All My Children.

      Lakewood school prog. offers adult classes

      The Lakewood Community School Program is offering career skills classes at Lakewood High School, 855 Somerset Ave., as part of its adult enrichment program scheduled for the spring semester. Included are classes in keyboarding, electronic medical billing, public speaking skills and medical secretary training programs. Classes begin Feb. 24.

      "Computers for Beginners" is slated to begin on Feb. 25. This class is designed for the adult with little or no knowledge of computers.

      Boating safety courses scheduled for February

      The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 16-07 is sponsoring courses in boating for all area boaters in the Monmouth and Ocean county areas.

      The "Advanced Coastal Navigation Course is designed for the recreational boater. Content includes plotting, interpreting tides and currents and determining position. There is no fee for the course, however, there is a charge of $65 to cover the cost of books and materials. The course will include 12 lessons over a period of six weeks and will be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 7:30-9:30 p.m. starting Feb. 25. It will be held at Toms River Regional Intermediate School East, 1519 Hooper Ave., Toms River. To register or for more information contact Harold Harris at (732) 255-3753.

      They will also be offering a one day United States Coast Guard Auxiliary-authorized "Boating Safely Course" on March 29, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at Point Pleasant High School, 2100 Panther Path, Point Pleasant.       N.J. Tap Ensemble returns to OCC

      The New Jersey Tap Ensemble returns to the Ocean County College Fine Arts Center, College Drive, Toms River, on Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. with its new production of Pass It On. Tickets are on sale now for $20. For information call the box office at (732) 255-0500.
