Tall Friends Club to give
scholarships to seniors
Tall Friends Club to give The Central Jersey Tall Friends Club is offering scholarships of up to $1,000 to tall graduating high school seniors from Ocean, Monmouth, Middlesex or Mercer Counties. Additional criteria include academic achievement, community involvement, and personal achievement. The minimum height requirement for scholarship applicants is 5’10" for females, and 6’2" for males. The Central Jersey Tall Friends Club is a chapter of Tall Clubs International, which is a social organization for men and women of tall stature, and consists of more than 50 clubs across the United States and Canada. It takes pride in fostering tall awareness through its community involvement and is pleased to offer this scholarship to students who will be entering a two or four year institution of higher learning in the Fall of 2003. Scholarship applications must be returned by May 15, and scholarships will be awarded June 14. For information, visit www.cjtall.org. Spring Flea Market planned at Allaire Allaire Village is hosting a "Spring Flea Market" as a fund-raiser, May 17 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Show Field at the Historic Village at Allaire in Allaire State Park, Route 524, Wall Township. The event will benefit the historic and educational programs presented at the village. There will be more than 100 vendors displaying old, new and handmade items of all types. Brick Memorial Day Parade participants info Brick Township Post 348, The American Legion, and the township of Brick will sponsor the annual Brick Township Memorial Day parade, to be held May 26. Organizations who would like to participate in the parade may request a form by calling American Legion Post 348 at (732) 477-1917. The parade will start at 10 a.m. and will assemble at the Foodtown parking lot on Route 70 at 9 a.m. After the parade, there will be a memorial program in front of town hall to recognize those who gave their lives defending the country. A special section will be reserved for all Blue Star mothers and fathers who attend.
