Lack of consideration in pet incident is appalling

Lack of consideration in pet incident is appalling

This letter is directed to two types of individuals: The bad ones and all the good people that entered my life unexpectedly on April 11, 2003. The incident occurred as follows:

An individual hit and killed my beloved wired-haired fox terrier, Molly, on Princeton Avenue and did not even stop after their deadly action. The inconsideration and lack of concern for life is appalling. There were others, however, who were goodhearted and concerned, who stopped to help remove my dead dog from the road and immediately contacted the Brick Police and the Jersey Shore Animal Center.

Due to their compassion for life (even though only an animal) I was able to find Molly and have closure for her untimely death. Jersey Shore Animal Center informed me that they received at least five phone calls regarding this matter within five minutes.

I can only hope the person who killed and left my dog in the street would behave differently if it had been a child or adult. I would like to thank Bob for all his help, the Jersey Shore Animal Center, and the Brick Police Department. I am grieving terribly at this time for the loss of the life of my young pet.
