      Protecting source of our drinking water is of paramount importance
           The need to protect our drinking water from pollutants is vital and must be addressed now. Scientists at the University of Massachusetts and representatives from the Trust for Public Lands have mapped out crucial Metedeconk watershed land that must be kept free of development to ensure the integrity of the river as a drinking water source.

      Using a school budget auditor presents its risks
           Kudos to Brick Township Superintendent Dr. Thomas Seidenberger for pounding the pavement in support of the 2004 school budget. As he meets with residents, including senior citizens groups, which represent a very significant voting bloc in Brick Township, he will be in the best position to offer insight as to why this spending plan deserves support.

      Board should have ended the code of conduct long ago
           I was so pleased to read that the students from the incident at BMAC would not be punished under the code of conduct. Even though the policy was being suspended, the school board said they could not make it retroactive.
