BlueClaws stadium to host Brick Day May 2
Mayor Joseph Scarpelli announced that the fourth annual Brick Township Day will be held at First Energy Park in Lakewood, May 2.
The day will start with a game between Brick National and Brick American Little Leagues at 9:45 a.m. The winner will be awarded with the Mayor’s Trophy. Mayor Scarpelli will throw out the first pitch prior to the game. At 1:05 p.m., the Lakewood BlueClaws, an affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, will take the field against the Kannapolis Intimidators, a major league affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. Immediately following the BlueClaws game, Brick Township High School varsity baseball team vs. Brick Township Memorial High School varsity baseball team will take the field. The winner will get to display the Mayor’s Trophy donated by Mayor Scarpelli. The trophy is currently on display at Brick Township Memorial High School in honor of the Mustangs’ win last year. In addition, over 20 organizations will be displaying their information and goods at tables along the main walkway.
