      Gabriel J. Noto
      Obituaries Gabriel J. Noto

      Mr. Noto, 75, of Brick died June 27 at home. Born in Jersey City, he had lived in Cranford from 1965 until moving to Brick four years ago. He was employed by Orange Avenue Middle School for 10 years as head custodian. He previously had been a woodshop supervisor at Tecfab, North Arlington, for 15 years, and had also worked for his family business, Rose Dairy, in Jersey City, for 15 years. Mr. Noto was a member of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Cranford, and St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church, Brick. Surviving are his wife, Mary Marzigliano Noto; three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Gail Noto, and Gabriel and Dawn Noto, all of Manalapan, and Dr. Gregory and Marcia Noto of Freehold; two daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Steven Gachko of Manalapan, and Marie and Louis Perillo of Freehold; two brothers, Anthony Noto of Clark and Sebastian Noto of Jersey City; three sisters, Bess Nelson, Vita Zoltak and Rosemarie Tierney, all of Cranford; 13 grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Colonial Funeral Home, Herbertsville section of Brick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Dominic’s Church. Entombment took place at St. Rose of Lima Mausoleum, Freehold Township. Memorial donations may be made to Meridian Hospice, 615 Hope Road, Eatontown 07724; or the American Cancer Society, 801 Broad St., Shrewsbury 07702.

      James W. Zawadsky

      Mr. Zawadsky, 86, of Brick died June 27 at Meridian Nursing & Rehabilitation Center at Brick. Born in South River, he had resided there before moving to Brick in 1981, when he retired. He was employed for 25 years as a machine operator at Anheuser-Busch, Old Bridge. Mr. Zawadsky was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, South River, where he belonged to the "R" Club and the Men’s Club. He was predeceased by a son, James, in 1985. Mr. Zawadsky is survived by his wife, Olga Kowzun Zawadsky, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River, and at Sts. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church. Burial took place at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, South River.
