Governor has made N.J. a ‘laughingstock’

I have followed the somewhat erratic career of James E. McGreevey for many years. I have seen some strange events manipulated by him. I have observed many of his political blunders, which I will not recite here. We all know of his misguided appointments, his tours to foreign lands and his Machiavellian escapades. Many have expressed their sorrow toward his parents and family members for his unseemly behavior with another male. Unfortunately, the story is much deeper than the surface that James wants us to see. This behavior preceded him into politics and the governor’s mansion. Coming out of the closet is supposed to be a revelation for one person, not a slap in the face to all who did or did not support him.

McGreevey has again made New Jersey a laughingstock. From day one of his magic healing, the media comedians have joked about how New Jersey leads. The time has come for McGreevey to really do the right thing and confess the true reason for his resignation. He is a corrupt politician who has decided that it is better to say, "I am a gay American" than to state that "I am a crooked politician about to bring down the government of the state of New Jersey."

His illicit affair with another man is an excuse to make him feel better about his misuse of the trust placed in him by New Jersey voters.

James, get out now. Save us the embarrassment of the media joking about the crooked "gay American" governor from New Jersey being indicted. You have embarrassed your family, your friends and most importantly, every citizen of New Jersey.

As to what comes next, let the games begin.
