      Nine arrested at liquor stores

      BRICK — Police have made numerous arrests in the past few weeks as a result of their Cops in Shops program.

      With a presence inside local liquor stores and outside in the parking lot, police have arrested eight individuals and charged them with purchasing alcohol for someone under the legal age, or for attempting to have someone purchase alcohol for underage individuals. And one male was arrested for using a fraudulent driver’s license.

      Justin Thomas Herbster, 18, of Cartagena Drive, was arrested and charged with entering a licensed premise for the purpose of purchasing alcohol while being underage and exhibiting a fraudulent document, according to police reports. The arrest took place on Aug. 28 at 7:03 p.m. at the Buy-Rite Liquors on Mantoloking Road. Herbster was processed and released.

      On Aug. 20 at 9:33 p.m., Colleen Samantha Reilly, 21, Point Pleasant, was arrested and charged with purchasing alcohol for her underage friends at the Forbes Liquors on Brick Boulevard. According to police reports, Reilly’s friends, April Hazelet, 20, Point Pleasant, and Kimberly Margaret Fennessy, 20, Birch Bark Drive, were also arrested and charged with having someone purchase alcohol while being underage. All three were processed and released.

      Also on Aug. 20, at about 10 p.m., Jeremy Schaefer, 21, Heritage Drive, was arrested and charged with purchasing alcohol for underage individuals at the Forbes Liquors.

      According to police reports, four women were in the parking lot waiting for Schaefer to buy them alcohol. All four women were arrested and charged with having someone buy them alcohol while being underage. The women are: Martina M. Mojica, 18, Brielle; Beata Isabella Krawczyk, 19, Greenwood Loop Road; Kristin Ann Chakeres, 18, Maple Avenue; and Amy Elizabeth Ryskamp, 19, Dakota Avenue.

      Schaefer and the four women were processed and released.
