Lance Dillon, M.D., recently joined the staff of the Breast Center of Ocean County at Ocean Medical Center. Dillon, a fellowship-trained radiologist, will be working solely with the Breast Center. Ocean Medical Center recruited Dillon from the Women’s Imaging Center of Delaware, Newark, Del. He has also worked at the University of Maryland Medical System where he was the assistant professor of radiology. Dillon received his bachelor’s degree from Trinity College, Hartford, Conn., and his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pa. He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and the National Board of Medical Examiners. He did his fellowship in breast imaging at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and his residency at the Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa. In addition, Dillon serves as a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American College of Radiology, the American Medical Association, the Medical Society of Delaware, the Radiologic Society of North America, and the Thomas Bond Society.
Marilyn Graef, of Brick, has been named Monmouth Medical Center’s Employee of the Month for August. Graef is a surgical technician at the medical center, which is located in Long Branch. Graef was praised for her thoughtfulness, efficiency and positive attitude in assisting surgical team members in Monmouth’s operating room suite. In her role, Graef is involved in the planning of surgical procedures – specializing in neurosurgery – which includes preparing patients for surgery, and sterilizing and arranging surgical instruments for use by the surgeon. Graef joined Monmouth Medical Center seven years ago after graduating from the Surgical Technology Program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey’s School of Health Related Professions in Scotch Plains. She is a member of the ladies auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10118, Lacey.
Olive Roquero-Osorio, a Monmouth Medical Center nurse for 18 years, has earned the Dr. Lester A. Barnett Nurse of the Month Award for August. As a charge nurse on a medical/surgical unit for hospitalized patients, the Brick resident was recognized for her patient care and nursing leadership skills. Roquero-Osorio received her nursing degree from St. Paul College in Manilla, Philippines, before coming to the United States and joining Monmouth. Certified in medical/surgical nursing, she serves on the hospital’s Infection Control, Nursing Recruitment and Retention and Needle Safety committees. The Nurse of the Month is named in memory of the late Lester A. Barnett, M.D., former chairman of surgery at Monmouth and an ardent supporter of the nursing profession throughout his lifetime.
The New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO), Monmouth/Ocean chapter, will host a dinner meeting Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. at the Sheraton Eatontown, Route 35 north, Eatontown. The topic for this dinner meeting is “Are you getting what you want from your business?” It will be presented by Sandy Newman, founder and president of Life Enhancement Coaches, a personal and entrepreneurial coaching practice. Newman is also a past state president of NJAWBO. Prospective members are invited to attend the event. The cost is $35 for members and $40 for nonmembers.
