Community Christian Choir, an interfaith group of singers from New Jersey as well as eastern Pennsylvania, will hold open auditions at 7 p.m. Jan. 28 and Feb. 4 at the Allentown Presbyterian Church, Route 539, Allentown, which is where the group rehearses. The choir will be rehearsing a variety of contemporary Christian music for a series of benefit concerts for various local charities. Monmouth Conservatory of Music will hold auditions for its Youth and Children’s Chorus for ages 7-18. No experience is necessary. Audition dates are Jan. 26 and 31. Weekly rehearsals are Mondays from 6:30-8 p.m. for grades two through six, and Wednesdays from 6:45-8:30 for grades seven through 12. A dinner-theater opening in February is running an ongoing talent search for actors and interns. Many positions need to be filled for interactive murder-mysteries, stage plays and interactive rock ‘n’ roll fairy tales. Also needed are creative backstage personnel. Monmouth Civic Chorus will hold auditions for experienced singers January through June on Tuesday evenings by appointment only. Auditions and chorus rehearsals are held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 65 W. Front St., Red Bank. The chorus, directed by Mark Shapiro, will perform Brahms’ “Alto Rhapsody” with guest star Barbara Dever from the Metropolitan Opera at the Count Basie Theatre, Red Bank on April 3, and Baroque music by Bliss, Handel and Purcell on June 11 at the First Presbyterian Church, Red Bank. Brick Children’s Community Theatre will hold auditions for the spring musical “How to Eat Like a Child” Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. at the Brick Civic Center, 270 Chambers Bridge Rd., Brick.
