Joan D. DeMartino Plodwick Mrs. Plodwick, 69, of the Belford section of Middletown, died Jan. 20 at home, following a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Jersey City, she resided there prior to moving to Belford 44 years ago. She was a retired nurses aide at the Middletown Board of Education. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown, and member of the Catholic Daughters Court Fulgens Corona. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, August Plodwick; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael A. and Linda Plodwick of Middletown; two daughter and sons-in-law, Maryann and Robert Schenk of Brick, and Michelle and David Baurkot of Flemington; a brother, Joseph DeMartino of Pittsburgh; and eight grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Mary’s Church. Entombment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Irene M. Henry Miller Mrs. Miller, 92, of East Brunswick, died Jan. 9 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. She was a school crossing guard for East Brunswick Township for 21 years, retiring in 1979. Mrs. Miller was predeceased by her husband, Howard G. Miller, in 1993. She is survived by three daughters, Gloria Baron of Taffton, Pa., Jean Doerrherfer of Brick, and Sylvia Lacey of Lady Lake, Fla.; a son, Howard B. Miller of East Brunswick; two brothers, Floyd Henry and Robert Henry, of Maine; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Burial took place at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick. The Eckman Funeral Home, Spotswood, was in charge of arrangements.
David H. Bonett Mr. Bonett, 71, of Hudson, Fla., formerly of Old Bridge, died Jan. 24 in Regional Medical Center, Bayonet Point, Fla. Prior to his retirement in 1986, he owned and operated Capital Termite Control, Old Bridge, for 30 years. Surviving are his wife, Marguerite Jones Bonett; two sons, David of Brick and Craig of Old Bridge; two daughters, Kelly Thorton of Egg Harbor and Kim Lindley of East Brunswick; four brothers, Joe, Ronald, Jerry and Bobby, all of Florida; a sister, Constance Cappiello of Florida; his in-laws, Joyce and Francis Bourgeau; and nine grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Cremation was private.
