      Free smoke detectorbatteries in Brick

    • The Brick Bureau of Fire Safety wants to remind residents to change the batteries in their smoke detectors when they adjust the time on their clocks one hour ahead for daylight savings April 3.
    • In order to help people remember, a limited number of 9-volt batteries will be distributed for free by members of local fire companies at Brick Township’s Wal-Mart, Route 88 and Jack Martin Boulevard; Costco, 1722 Route 88 west; and Lowe’s, 520 Route 70 beginning at 1 p.m. April 2, while supplies last. They will also answer any questions about smoke detectors and fire prevention that the public may have. The batteries have been donated by the above mentioned stores. Details: (732) 458-4100.
