Registration for the seventh season of Brick Recreation B-MAC Basketball is currently under way. The program is open to Brick residents, both boys and girls, in grades two through eight with registrations accepted through Oct. 14. Registrations are also being accepted for a high school boys division through Dec. 2 or until the league fills up.

The second- and third-grade program will be a clinic format consisting of six one-hour sessions on Saturday mornings at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. or 11 a.m. Registrations are now being accepted for the first session, which begins Oct. 1 and ends Nov. 5. Session two will be Nov. 12 through Jan. 7, and session three will be Jan. 14 through Feb. 18. Each session costs $20 per child (includes T-shirt) and children may re-enroll for additional sessions.

Fourth- through eighth-grade boys and girls will be placed on teams for regular game play. Tryouts for team placement will be held during the week of Oct. 17-21, with multiple opportunities for children to try out within their grade level. All children will be placed on teams. Practices begin after Nov. 1, with opening day scheduled for Dec. 3. Each team is guaranteed 12 games plus playoffs during the course of the season, which will run to mid-March. Additionally, there will be an inter-league All-Star Tournament. The registration fee is $65 per child and includes T-shirt, shorts and trophies.

The high school boys division plays on Sunday mornings at Lake Riviera Middle School. The season consists of 11 games, plus playoffs. Registration is also $65 per student.

At this time, one head coach is needed for each team in the league. Adults who are interested in coaching should call the Brick Recreation office at (732) 262-1165 or stop in to fill out an application.

B-MAC Basketball registrations will be accepted in the Brick Recreation Office (270 Chambers Bridge Road), Monday through Friday (8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.) and on Sept. 26 and Oct. 3 until 8 p.m. Payment is by check or money order only, with valid driver’s license. Registrations for the fourth- through eighth-grade program will close on Oct. 14.

Children wishing to play B-MAC basketball after Oct. 14 will be wait-listed and placed on a team of appropriate age level as vacancies occur. For additional information, call the Brick Recreation Office at (732) 262-1044.
