A car smashed through a NJ Transit bus shelter on Lanes Mill Road in front of Dorado Plaza Dec. 20 during rush hour. The driver of the car was arrested for drunken driving. All items in Police Beat are taken from police department records. All suspects are presumed innocent until found guilty in court.
Police arrested and charged Glen Titian, 46, of Brick with driving under the influence, reckless driving, and careless driving at 5:14 p.m. Dec. 20 on Lanes Mill Road. According to police, Titian had been driving north in his silver Mazda Miata when he attempted to make a left turn into Bricktown Liquors in front of an oncoming car.
After the collision, Titian’s car spun around jumped a curb and ripped through a NJ Transit bus shelter in front of Dorado Plaza, police reported. Titian’s ear was bleeding but he refused treatment, according to reports. The driver of the oncoming car was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center after losing consciousness, police said.
Police arrested and charged Thomas Sharkey Jr., 38, of Brick, with driving under the influence, reckless driving and careless driving at 12:47 a.m. Dec. 21 on Chambers Bridge Road.
Police arrested and charged Brigida Colella, 32, of Toms River, with driving under the influence, driving under the influence with a minor in a motor vehicle, and reckless driving at 6:11 p.m. Dec. 16 on Route 70 near Brick Boulevard.
