Rotary ‘Great Chefs of the Jersey Shore’ Jan. 31

The Brick Township Rotary Club is hosting its seventh annual “Great Chefs of the Jersey Shore” event Jan. 31, from 6 to 9 p.m., at Woodlake Country Club in Lakewood. This popular annual event raises funds to benefit local Ocean County charities. Last year’s event was attended by more than 700 people, and raised almost $40,000 to benefit United Way and its local partner agencies.

The Great Chefs of the Jersey Shore is one of the signature events of the Brick Rotary Club. This event will feature the tastes of fine food, wines, microbrews and desserts from many different establishments. Guests will be treated to a wide range of dishes including Italian, seafood, southern barbecue, American cuisine, and desserts. Entertainment will be provided by the Kevin Frey Trio, from the NY Parsons School of Music; and the Ed Monterro Trio. Special guest chef Paul Dillon, executive producer and host of CN8’s, “Let’s Cook with Paul Dillon” will be on hand to meet guests. Chef Dillon is an accomplished chef with more than 30 years of experience in the culinary arts.

Among the participating restaurants are Bella Vita, Craig’s, Edible Arrangements, Elisas Pastry, Jack Baker’s Lobster Shanty, Labradour Lounge, Mulberry Street, Riverhorse Brewery, Sand Bar, Sea Oaks, Ship Wreck Grill, Shore Catering, and Tesauros.

Additionally, American Importing/ Exporting, Bacchus School of Wine, and Heavyweight Brewing will offer fine beer, wine and liquor selections.

The Brick Township Rotary is focused on helping those both in the local community and around the world. Over the last 40 years, Brick Rotary has quietly supported hundreds of worthy causes including scholarships for students, providing Brick Township police officers with bullet proof vests and tactical gear, the building of a bandshell in Brick, and supporting United Way and its partner agencies. The club has over 50 members with each member volunteering countless hours to raise funds for deserving causes.
