School budgets responsible for taxation without representation

The position of school superintendent is, by far, the biggest waste of taxpayer dollars in the state of New Jersey. In Brick Township, for example, we have the misfortune of employing, at a staggering salary and benefits, one Thomas Seidenberger. Although I never met this individual, I find him to be a pompous, arrogant aristocrat who purposely attempts to divide and conquer the citizens of Brick Township. He pins seniors against parents, homeowners against tenants, all in an attempt to extract as much taxpayer dollars from Brick residents as possible.

Once again Seidenberger will present an inflated school budget that pays for his overpaid administrators, no-bid contracts, and other political patronage waste.

He then will employ fear tactics on the residents of this town, threatening to cut programs and instructors.

I’m confident that for the fourth year in a row, the budget will be defeated at the polls.

Recently, it has come to my attention that the Township Council will, once again, be forced to hire a budgetary expert to review last year’s unrestricted school fund balance. Apparently, there is a discrepancy over a few million dollars that should be in this particular account. If the results of this audit determine a deficiency, then the town council has a fiduciary responsibility to the taxpayers to seek the removal of this school superintendent and his cronies.

School budgets across this state are partially responsible for massive taxation without representation, that along with the federal government mandating education for illegal aliens, and a radical left wing New Jersey Supreme Court legislating their agenda from the bench, local control over school budgets are very restrictive. However, the Brick Township Council can take the extraordinary lead in making Seidenberger accountable for his actions.

I certainly do not expect Brick Mayor [Joseph] Scarpelli to stand up for the taxpayers; he has been consistently silent throughout his tenure when it comes to the school budget.
