BlueClaws seek host families for 2005 season

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood BlueClaws are looking for local families to assist in housing players during the 2005 season.

Anyone with a spare room can help provide lodging for this year’s BlueClaws by either lending or renting a room or apartment.

Last year, the BlueClaws received incredible response from the community. A pool of nearly 20 homes helped house the fourth year squad.

“It was great to have so many people step forward and help out last season,” BlueClaws General Manager Geoff Brown said. “We have a list of host families from the last four years that we’re going to turn to first, but we are always looking for more families to help us out. It’s a great way to get involved with the ball club and both the players and the organization are truly appreciative.”

The BlueClaws are looking to add to their list of families where someone speaks Spanish in the home because of the number of Latin American players in the organization.

The regular season runs from April 7 until Sept. 6 and players typically range from 19 to 24 years of age.

If you are interested in helping out or want more information, contact BlueClaws Robin Hill at 732-901-7000, extension 100.
