      A look at board attendance

Students are not the only ones with attendance records.

After Board of Education members John Talty and Dan Rosa criticized schools Superintendent Thomas L. Seidenberger and school Business Administrator Nicholas Puleio of taking days off March 16, 17 and 20, Seidenberger suggested the board members' own attendance records be reviewed.

An attendance review shows that Talty has missed one meeting since he was elected to the board in 2004.

Rosa was given a board seat by voters in April 2005. He has missed four meetings in that approximate year.

John Paredes, whose seat is up for election this year and who will not seek a sixth term this April, missed 12 out of 26 meetings since May 2005, and six meetings the previous year, according to school administration records.

Frank Pannucci Sr. logged the most absences last year by missing seven meetings. This year, he has missed three.
