Eminent domain property should conform to standards regarding government money

Even though I don't really agree with the entire concept of eminent domain, I do have a recommendation that might make the proceedings involved a little more palatable, maybe not to the victims with no countervail, but more acceptable to the actual American voting public looking on in amazement.

The awarding of private property via eminent domain to a private developer is virtually a transaction of public property or more like government money, since a value has been placed on the property surrendered.

Government money is subject by law to conform to the prevailing rate of wage of the construction workers in the area. To have this work performed by migrant workers at an unfair and unlivable wage would be an additional slap in the face to everyone.

As New Jersey considers changes to quell some of the objections to the U.S. Supreme Court eminent domain ruling, Assemblyman John Burzichelli Democrat Gloucester County, chairman of the Assembly Commerce and Economic Development Committee should invoke the prevailing rate of wage into the assembly of a consensus bill that will be ready for consideration when it meets in June 2006.
