Brick woman dies after 1-car crash

A 72-year-old Brick woman died Aug. 6 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, from injuries she received in a car accident, police said.

Helen A. Argundizza had been traveling north on Herbertsville Road around 12:01 p.m. Aug. 6 when the Toyota Carolla she was driving left the roadway and struck a telephone pole, police said.

Police believe Argundizza had fainted due to a diabetes condition.

Herbertsville Fire Company extricated the woman from her vehicle. She was transported to the hospital with multiple bone fractures throughout her body.

She died later that night from internal injuries, police said.
