OceanFirst Foundation has given $20,000 to the Boy Scouts of America, Jersey Shore Council, for its in-school scouting program that targets troubled youth.

Manny Fonseca, senior district executive with the Jersey Shore Council, said the program is currently helping young boys in Lakewood, Seaside Heights and South Toms River. According to Fonseca, the boys get to wear a Boy Scout uniform and attend meetings at their school, and the program gives young boys the values and character-building skills that they otherwise would not be able to receive.
