Brick Township's two high school girls bowling teams turned in solid second-place finishes in keenly competitive tournaments on Saturday.

Brick Memorial, which was second in the Bishop Ahr Tournament a week earlier, again finished second in the Westfield Tournament as Jessica Albrecht again had the high series of the day, while Amanda Britton, Danielle McClelland, Becky Sherman and Kately Christine also bowled well.

Sparked by Tracy Ganjoin and Nicole Nardiello, Brick Township finished second in the Fairleigh Dickinson University Invitational. The tournament had a Baker style format, which means each bowler rolls two frames at a time.

The Jersey Shore Volleyball Club (JSVBC, www.jsvbc.com) will host Rich Drake and Joel Stanford, members of The United State Volleyball Association and The Garden Empire Volleyball Association, at Georgian Court University on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. They will present "The Increased Mastery and Professional Application of Coaching Theory" (IMPACT) clinics for volleyball coaches in the region. This is a unique opportunity for coaches in the area to understand the game of volleyball to help improve communities and the game. Call Georgian Court coach Francisco Casado at (732) 948-1759 with any questions.
