+ A Gala Art Auction hosted by the Childhood Leukemia Foundation (CLF) and the Brick Morning Rotary Charitable Foundation will take place May 18 at the Crystal Point Yacht Club, Point Pleasant, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. The event will benefit the free programs and service that CLF provides to children suffering with all types of cancer in addition to the local charitable causes of the Brick Morning Rotary Club. Entertainment. Preview and cocktail hour: 6-7 p.m.
+ Brick Youth Club will host the following dances and movies at 7 p.m. at Civic Plaza, 270 Chambers Bridge Road on the following dates. Dances are only for Brick resident middle school kids currently in the sixth, seventh and eighth grades. Movies are open to the entire family. Dances will be held May 19, June 2 and 16. + A yard sale will be held May 19 and 20, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ocean County (BBBSOC), 85 Williams St., Lakewood. + America's Boating Course will be taught by members of U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 16-07 on two separate days. Each course will be taught in full in one day on either May 20 or June 10, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Point Pleasant Borough High School on Panther Lane. + "Long Live the Wreath," a workshop being offered at Calgo Gardens, 84 Cross St. Lakewood, will be held May 20 at 11 a.m. Patti Dixon, a Rutgers University horticulturalist, and Denise Newell, a floral designer, will teach participants how to create a colorful, fragrant living wreath made of annuals, herbs and succulents.
