The Jackson Destiny U14 girls (JAGS team) is holding tryouts on June 5 and 7 at the Justice Complex. Registration is at 6:15 p.m., with tryouts to start at 6:45 p.m. All positions are open, and out-of-town girls are welcome. The Ocean County Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring a tennis clinic and racket demonstration day on Friday, May 19 (rain date May 23). The event will be held at the Ocean County Park, Route 88, Lakewood. The clinic, conducted by the Ocean Tennis Center of Toms River, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, and will cost $10. New racket demos, refreshments and prizes will be included, as well as on the court play. Please note level of play when registering. The 2003 and 2004 Snickers State Cup Champion Twin County Crew girls soccer team is holding tryouts for the U14 fall season for players born Aug. 1, 1992, to July 31, 1993. Premier level, committed and dedicated players only. Tryouts will be held the month of May every Wednesday and Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Drum Point Soccer Complex in Brick. On June 2-4, The College of New Jersey will once again play host to the Special Olympics New Jersey Summer Games. This year's festivities kick off with the opening ceremony at Lions' Stadium on the Ewing campus Friday, June 2, at 7:30 p.m. Volunteers can still sign up for a variety of activities throughout the weekend.
