Business Briefs Paul V. Orecchia, an attorney at the Toms River law firm of Carluccio, Leone, Dimon, Doyle & Sachs, and Nate Brown, a computer consultant and owner of Comconico Inc., Jackson, have formed Contributech Inc., a nonprofit organization designed to help low-income or disadvantaged children and their families keep up with the use of computers through donations of computer equipment, education and training. Contributech is actively looking for donations of used or new computer equipment. Contributech will refurbish the donated computer equipment, give it to needy children, and then oversee educational activities such as seminars and programs that will give needy families the same advantages in using computers that many other families have. Other members of the board of trustees of Contributech are Anne Ettore, Ocean; Joseph Craparotta, of Hightstown; Lawrence Sargent, of Wall, and Lisa Poletti, of Morganville. OceanFirst Bank is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the establishment of OceanFirst Foundation. Since its inception July 2, 1996, OceanFirst Foundation has contributed more than $16 million dollars to 600 local charities in Ocean, Monmouth and Middlesex counties. John R. Garbarino, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of OceanFirst Bank once again expressed the commitment of the company's Board of Directors, management and staff that has always believed a great company gives back to and invests in the communities it serves. According to Susan Kelly, Executive Director of the Food Bank for Monmouth and Ocean Counties, OceanFirst Foundation has been the premier supporter of nonprofits throughout the region. The foundation is currently valued at approximately $38 million and its contributions to local charities continue to grow.
Donna M. Rivera, of Brick, has been appointed financial services officer in charge of Columbia Bank in Woodbridge. Prior to joining Columbia in 2005, Rivera served as branch manager at First Savings Bank and assistant branch manager at Franklin State Bank. She is a member of the Woodbridge Chamber of Commerce and a board member of the Woodbridge Township Education Foundation. Rivera holds a New Jersey state license for life insurance and annuities.
