In the Service Army Pvt. Daniel A. Hansen has graduated from the Armament/Tank Turret Repairer Advanced Individual Training course at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Aberdeen, Md. Hansen learned to perform ordnance armament direct and general support maintenance repairs and troubleshoot mechanisms, systems and components on tank turrets, armament weapons, self-propelled artillery, and infantry fighting vehicles; also, correct electrical and hydraulic malfunctions on Howitzer cannons, mount and turret drive assemblies, and perform cannon tube evaluation. He is the husband of Lauren Hansen and son of Douglas L. Hansen of Jensen Beach, Fla., and Ann E. Hansen Brick,.
Air Force Staff Sgt. Larry J. Waddell has deployed to Southwest Asia in the Persian Gulf region to support the mission of Operation Enduring Freedom as a member of the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing. Waddell is normally assigned to the 4th Equipment Maintenance Squadron, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Goldsboro, N.C. Wing members provide support for the U.S. Central Command's Air Forces mission, assisting in the full spectrum of fueling and aerial refueling operations to U.S. and coalition aircraft engaged in the war on terrorism in the region. Flight crews fly thousands of combat refueling sorties delivering aircraft fuel in the millions of pounds. Waddell is an aerospace ground equipment project engineer with 10 years of military service. He is the son of Larry and Edith Waddell of Riegelwood, N.C. His wife, Nishaun, is the daughter of Goerge and Glenda Atkins of Brick. The sergeant is a 1996 graduate of East Columbus High School, Lake Waccamaw, N.C.
