Library offers Internet resources to its patrons
The Ocean County Library offers more than three dozen Internet resources and most of them are accessible to its members from their home computer.
The resources range in interest from auto repair to detailed reports on national and local businesses; from homework research to genealogical research, and lots of stuff in between, like learning a foreign language.
To access the sites from home, log on to the library's Web site (www.oceancountylibrary.org) then click on "online resources" at the top of the page. Select a resource to examine, then read the introduction which guides users through the logging-on process. Some resources require users to type in their 14-digit bar code found the back of each person's library card, or a pin number, which is usually the last four digits of a person's telephone number.
Those who don't have a library card can get one at any local branch or apply for one online. Proof of residence must be brought to one of the branches to validate it.
