Finally, no puppet in office when it comes to bear hunt

Finally, someone in a high political position that makes crucial decisions based on facts. I applaud our governor for wanting to investigate means of dealing with the bears in this state other than just killing them.

The Division of Fish & Wildlife has fallen far short from educating residents about the true characteristics of black bears, garbage control and enforcing the "no feeding" ban. Killing always seems to be the first choice instead of the last resort.

Of course the individuals angered by the governor's decision are from the hunting community and those who have been made to fear these animals through false information. Sad to think that lawsuits will surely follow because hunters will be upset they might not be able to blow apart a bear this winter. Find something positive to do with your family instead. There is enough bloodshed in this world today.

What it comes down to is the residents of New Jersey have been voicing their opinion to the governor to look deeper into the matter, and he did. Kudos Gov. Jon Corzine.
