Many contributed to the success of Arthritis Walk
I take this opportunity to thank Ocean County Freeholder Gerry Little who chaired the 2007 Arthritis Walk this past Sunday at Point Pleasant Beach. He is a familiar face to this worthwhile cause and has worked very hard on its behalf. Through his efforts and others from the Arthritis Foundation, it was a huge success as the walk brought out a record number of supporters and raised funds for research and education. I also want to thank the Storino family of Jenkinson's Pavilion for allowing us to use the Pavilion as our base site. They have been wonderful corporate neighbors, having truly stepped up to the plate in sharing our mission and giving generously of time, money, resources and, as important, compassion. Finally, allow me to thank all the many faces who made the Arthritis Walk possible - those who walked, who worked the tables, who gave contributions, who spread the word about the event, all those who are part of the Arthritis Foundation "family." Lending support to the mission of the Arthritis Foundation allows the foundation to continue to do their very important job - to pursue new medicines and treatment strategies and ultimately, a cure, for arthritis, a disease that affects millions, including my family. Again, thank you to all those who helped make a difference in our fight against arthritis.
