I am writing in regard to the recent Brick Board of Education election. I voted and supported greatly the team of Talty/Kight because of their honesty, integrity and dedication they have displayed for the past three years. I am disgusted by the manner in which the two candidates, Woska/Reinhold, acquired their seats on the board, thereby defeating the Talty/Kight team. More ... Monday, May 28 is Memorial Day. A day set aside by Congress for Americans to reflect and pay tribute to members of the armed forces who made the ultimate sacrifice. Unfortunately, over the years, Memorial Day has become nothing more than a day off work. A day for barbecues, retail stores and auto sales and a day where you don't see many homes flying the American flag. More ... Brick without Steve Acropolis as its mayor will be nothing more than a municipal museum. Do you all remember that it was Steve Acropolis who alerted all of us abut five years ago that the curator of this museum had other interests detrimental to our quality of life and that we would be suffering in the very near future because of these illegal happenings? More ... First let me congratulate Mr. Daniel Woska and Mrs. Virginia Reinhold for being elected to the school board. I wish them well. It is this writer's opinion that in the recent election process we lost two very hard-working and dedicated individuals in the form of school board members John Talty and Sharon Kight. More ... I am a Brick resident and have attended many SummerFest concerts. My favorites were Jay and the Americans and a few years ago, they had the Capris and Joey Dee and the Starlighters on the same night. How many times are they going to put us to sleep with the Duprees? More ... |
