      Mustang teams fare well at county championships
      Brodeur captures another 3,200-meter title
            NEPTUNE - Shortly after winning the 3,200-meter run in 9:24.12 in the Ocean County track and field championships on Saturday, Andrew Brodeur was on the cell phone making a call to Amherst, Mass., to his buddy - Matt Weissinger. Brodeur had just broken Weissinger's school record by nearly three seconds, even though he admitted, "I didn't think I was going that fast.

      Hahn's double helps Brick girls finish fourth
            NEPTUNE - Deanne Hahn ignored her injured small toe on her right foot for a while as she won the shot put with a throw of 42 feet 9 1/2 inches on Wednesday and came back Saturday to nail down the discus with a throw of 144 feet 1 inch.

      Showdown to cap solid girls lacrosse season
            With three wins on its record, Brick Memorial's girls lacrosse team is looking for a good sendoff for its season and a foundation for next season. The opponent for next Friday's 3:45 p.m. special finale: host Brick Township, which is 2-12-1. A trophy will be presented to the winning team.

            Twin County Magic U10 MOSA girls travel team will hold tryouts for the fall season. Girls born between Aug. 1, 1997, and July 31, 1998, are eligible. We are looking for dedicated, competitive players. Tryouts will be every Monday from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Drum Point Soccer Complex in Brick.
