      B-MAC scrapbooking event June 30
            The Brick Municipal Alliance Committee (B-MAC) will host a scrapbooking event June 30 at Civic Plaza, 270 Chambers Bridge Road, Brick, 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Those who sign up to bring a large bottle beverage or a large snack bag to share will be admitted at 10 a.m. The fee is $40 per person and must be paid in advance. The event is open to people ages 10 and up.

      Dinner dance to benefit parade and Italian festival
            The Ocean County Columbus Day Parade Committee Grand Marshal dinner dance honoring Carol A. Camilli Wolfe - a benefit for the parade and Italian festival - will be held June 28 at 6:30 p.m. at Crystal Point Yacht Club, Point Pleasant.       Tee-up for heart transplant patients
            Due to rain cancellation, The Tom Giannattasio Jr. eighth annual Memorial Golf Outing, sponsored by Pioneer Hose Fire Company No. 1, will now be held July 9 at Battleground Country Club in Manalapan. Tee time is 10 a.m. The cost is $125 per player, which includes green fees, cart, driving range, lunch, beverages, dinner and awards. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.

      Strand to host summer theater youth camp
            The Strand Theater, 400 Clifton Avenue, Lakewood, will, for its fourth year, host a Summer Theater Youth Camp July 16-27, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for ages 7-18. The fee is $395 for the two week instructional period and includes a third bonus week July 30 through Aug. 3.

      'The Music Man' is coming to Brick
            The Brick Community Players' summer production will be the family musical, "The Music Man." Professor Harold Hill and the sound of "Seventy Six Trombones" will march into Brick at 7:30 p.m., July 12 and 13 and at 3 p.m. July 14, at the Brick Civic Center, Brick Plaza, 270 Chambers Bridge Road.

      Ocean County Vo-Tech to host summer camps
            Ocean County Vocational Technical School (OCVTS) will be offering career-related summer camps. Register now for summer fun. The Culinary Arts Camp will be held July 9-13, 8 a.m.-noon, at the OCVTS Brick Center. The program will focus on methods and techniques of meal planning, food preparation, cooking and safe knife handling.

      Brick Township Police Dept. Drug Hotline
            The Brick Township Police Department provides a "Drug Hotline" for citizens to report drug-related activity. The hotline was established as a means of providing the public with the opportunity to anonymously report drug activities in their neighborhood. It is answered and monitored by detectives assigned to the Drug Enforcement Unit. Messages are checked on a daily basis.

      Local recruits graduate from police academy
            The recruits of the Ocean County Police Academy's Basic Police Training Class No. 88 and the Special Law Enforcement Officers II Class No. 21 marked the end of their initial training during recent graduation ceremonies. Both classes graduated at separate ceremonies on May 24.

            This year the Brick Township Historical Society, in conjunction with the Garden Club of Brick, has 12 distinctive gardens for display at its Garden Tour. The tour will be held July 10, rain or shine, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
