Casino Night to Raise Money for Ocean of Love

Dr. Ron Rotem, a Toms River dentist, will host a casino party in Toms River to raise money for Ocean of Love Aug. 9 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Quality Inn, Toms River. Tickets cost $50 per person in advance and $75 per person if purchased at the door. In exchange for each ticket, players will receive playing chips valued at $250. To purchase the tickets in advance or to sponsor a table, call Rotem's office at (732) 341-8500. All proceeds will benefit Ocean of Love.

Ocean of Love is an organization that gives money directly to families whose children have been diagnosed with cancer. Not only do these families suffer the heartache of seeing their children go through tremendous hurdles for survival, but the parents, in most cases, have to give up their job to become a caretaker, placing a tremendous financial hardship on the family already devastated by their child's battle against cancer.

"Ocean of Love helps those families with everyday financial needs, such as utility bills, mortgage payments, the costs of transporting children for treatment, car repairs, gasoline, parking, tolls, and food, among many other expenses most people don't think about," said Linda Gillick, executive director of Ocean of Love. All are invited to attend and play such casino games as black jack, roulette, slots, craps, Texas Hold'em and more, while helping to raise money for families whose children have cancer. There will also be hors d'oeuvres and non-alcoholic beverages, cash bar, prizes, and raffles throughout the evening.

      Call Gillick at (732) 270-3500.
