            'You probably don't even hear it when it happens." That's what Bobby told Tony Soprano about death as they sat in a boat together. Earlier in the season Silvio was eating in a restaurant next to a man who was murdered. Silvio didn't realize the man was killed until afterward. Phil Leotardo never realized it because he was taken out so quick in front of his wife. Foreshadowing?

      Latest PTSO organization was not the first
            In your article regarding Robert Anderson of Brick Memorial High School, in the June 28 paper, mention was made of the parent-teacher-student organization at the high school. It was stated in the paper that this was the first PTSO in the school's history. That information was incorrect.

      Time to let appointments controversy die
            The political gamesmanship pursued by some of the Brick Township Council members regarding the political appointments made by the township clerk in January 2007 is a particularly sad performance, certainly ridiculous, and lastly, costly to Brick taxpayers.

      Thanks to all who made car show a success
            The Brick Morning Rotary wishes to thank all those who made the first annual Memorial Day Car Show such a huge success. One hundred thirty-seven cars participated in the event with antique cars, street rods, trucks and race cars represented. Over $2,500 was raised for our annual scholarship fund.

      Readers urged to 'make the safety net strong'
            Kudos to Greg Bean for his insight regarding hunger in America in a recent column. As the director of the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, I am always grateful to anyone who opens the door of hunger awareness a bit further and asks others to help those who suffer from the effects of hunger.
