Ed Koch to speak and sign books at library
      Ed Koch, former mayor of New York City, will speak at the Ocean County Library Headquarters, 101 Washington St., Toms River, July 23 at 7 p.m. He will discuss his latest book, "Buzz: How to Create It and How to Win With It" in the library's Mancini Hall. It is the mayor's 17th book.

Brick beach badges & parking permits on sale
      The Brick Township Recreation Department has announced that season beach badges and season parking permits for summer 2007 are now on sale in the Brick Recreation Department. The price for season badges is $20 for Brick residents and $30 for nonresidents. The price for season parking is $30 for Brick residents and $40 for nonresidents and includes any applicable sales tax.

      The 13th annual Funtasia Festival for Kids, sponsored by the Ocean County Board of Freeholders, will be held July 20 at Ocean County Park, Route 88, Lakewood. This year's theme is pirates. The free festival, sponsored by Ocean County Parks & Recreation, will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Casino Night to Raise Money for Ocean of Love
      Dr. Ron Rotem, a Toms River dentist, will host a casino party in Toms River to raise money for Ocean of Love 6-10 p.m. Aug. 9 at the Quality Inn, Toms River. Tickets are $50 per person in advance and $75 if purchased at the door. In exchange for each ticket, players will receive playing chips valued at $250.
