Reader has novel solution to illegal immigration

The illegal immigrants are called illegal because they are ILLEGAL and are in this great country of ours without permission and should be deported back immediately.

I am all for them applying to come into this country legally, pay taxes, pay for hospitalization, because free hospitalization to them is a great drain and burden on our economy. There are American citizens who cannot get free medical care - even being out of work, but own a home.

We have friends that have been paying income taxes for over 10 years under a temporary green card and are working to get a permanent green card, but will still have to wait five more years for citizenship. Is this fair to them and others who are doing it the correct way? There should be high fines for anyone hiring illegals.

We have been told time and time again, that these illegals take jobs that our citizens will not do. From what we have heard and are being told, the Second Street pick-up station in Lakewood is as follows:

You must pick up these illegals, feed them lunch and bring them back to Lakewood and all this for approximately $150 a day salary (tax-free). This is equivalent to $750 a week and is $37,500 a year. How many American citizens make that much and are having income taxes and Social Security taken out of it?

How many American citizens earn this much money? Send all the illegal immigrants back home and have them apply legally.

Better still, if the illegal majorities are from Mexico, let us make Mexico the 51st state and the president of Mexico the governor. Then they ALL can pay taxes and be citizens and have a free border.
