Columbus Day Parade slated for Oct. 7

The 16th annual Ocean County Columbus Day Parade will be held Oct. 7 on the Boulevard in Seaside Heights at 1 p.m. According to parade chairman Michael Blandina, the parade will be the highlight of the three-day Italian festival that honors the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus.

Blandina announced that there is still time for people to get involved with the Columbus Day Parade. Any bands or organizations that wish to participate should contact the parade committee at (732) 477-6507 or (732) 914-0351. Volunteers are always needed to assist with the event, as are sponsors ((individual, business or professional) for the bands and floats participating in this year's parade.
