Reader lauds Republican slate Ihave lived in Brick for nine years now and I can see and feel the quality of life that has been given to me and my family increasing tenfold. Brick is a town that I truly love not only for the services provided but also for the way in which they were given to us, honestly. Care. This is the word that describes the way my tax dollars are used for my benefit and yours. Come and attend a council meeting and hear firsthand the way our elected representatives do business for us with emphasis on our quality of life first and foremost. For this I thank them from the bottom of my heart and pray that they continue to keep up the courage to withstand the fight of some unbelievers who seek to undermine their efforts. Sunshine prevails at these meetings and nothing is accomplished in back rooms or in darkness as has happened with previous administrations. All one has to do is ask a question and an answer is forthcoming from one of the council members, in truth. I truthfully do not know how their families put up with all the nights spent away, attending meetings of a township nature, but they do. Again, for this I say thank you, not only to them but also to their families who sit home alone. I know each and every one of them personally and respect the fine job they are doing for me. Additionally, I do not know why they are doing this. I know I could not give of myself in this manner, and again, for this, I love them for working for me and giving me much-needed quality of life here in Brick. Five of these people want to be elected and are running on the Republican Party ticket in November. I want to acknowledge them and therefore give you their names with the hope and wishes that you give them a vote of approval in the voting booth. Council candidates for the Republican Party are: 1. Ruthanne Scaturro 2. Michael Thulen 3. Tony Matthews 4. Brian De Luca These four people support Steve Acropolis, who is running for mayor, and I firmly urge voters to give Steve the necessary votes to overcome the 184 votes that went to Joe Scarpelli last election. I believe in Steve, know his family on both sides and cannot think of another person better than him to become our next mayor. Come out and vote. It's your duty. We must give Steve Acropolis the plurality to govern us and send Brick into the 21st century as Ocean County's "Jewel of South Jersey." You will make an old senior very happy - me. Call me if you like. and you will hear words of truth from honest lips. I'm in the phone book. God bless Brick. Art Sholty Brick |
