      Brick Reservoir extends hours for fall season
            The chairman and board of commissioners of the Brick Township Municipal Utilities have considered requests by visitors to the Brick Reservoir to extend the hours for the fall season. The established hours for fall are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Effective immediately, modifications in employee work schedules will allow the facility to be open from 6:30 a.m. and remain open until 9 p.

      Audubon walk, meeting slated during November
            The Monmouth County Audubon Society will hold a walk Nov. 3 at 9 a.m. at Island Beach State Park. Island Beach contains examples of sand dunes, a thicket community, freshwater wetlands, maritime forest and tidal marshes. Birds found at the beach are peregrine falcons, wading birds, shorebirds, and the state's largest osprey colony, as well as more than 300 plants.

      NAMI to offer education and support to parents

      Volunteers needed for AARP tax counseling
            The AARP Tax-Aide program is looking for people who would like to help others with tax counseling. Volunteers will receive training with the cooperation of the Internal Revenue Service and the N.J. Division of Taxation during the first two weeks of January. Classes will form in December. Passing an open-book test and donating at least four hours per week from Feb.

            The St. Dominic PTA will hold its 26th annual fall auction Nov. 16 at the Sheraton Hotel in Eatontown. The theme of this year's event is "Castles in the Sand." Doors will open at 5:30 pm. Tickets are $40 per person and include admission, door prize ticket, and a fourcourse dinner.

      Brick Recreation to host bus trips
            The Brick Recreation Department will offer the following bus trips for all ages: A trip to the Peddler's Village Apple Festival in Buck's County, Pa., will take place Nov. 5. The bus will depart from Civic Plaza at 8 a.m. and return at approximately 6 p.m. The $30 fee includes the bus fare only for a day of shopping and dining at your leisure.
