Christmas tree recycling offered at local parks

The Ocean County Department of Parks and Recreation will once again offer county residents the opportunity to recycle their Christmas trees. Trees can be dropped off at the following local parks up to and including Jan. 29.

+ Ocean County Park, Route 88, Lakewood.

+ Cattus Island County Park, Cattus Island Boulevard, Toms River.

+ Forge Pond County Golf Course, Chambers Bridge Road, Brick.

+ Beaver dam Creek County Park, Bridge Ave., Point Pleasant.

+ Patriots County Park, Bowman Road, Jackson.

All tree drop-off areas will be designated by a sign and are authorized for homeowners only. No commercial trees will be accepted. The recycled trees will be chipped and used on nature trails throughout the parks system. Details: (732) 506-9090 or (609) 296-5606, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
