Suspects of Jersey Farms robbery still at large

BRICK TOWNSHIP - Police are searching for whoever robbed the Jersey Farms store on Lanes Mill Road between 11:30 p.m. on Christmas night and 2:30 a.m. on Dec. 26.

Patrolman Brian Ulman had walked the plaza earlier that night to do an area check and make sure all the doors were secure. When he returned later to do another check, he found the door to the store ajar. Both the front and rear doors had been pried open, said Capt. Douglas Kinney.

Considerable damage was done to the store during the robbery, and an ATM machine was vandalized. The suspect or suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash and some items from the store, he said.

An officer from the Ocean County Sheriff's Department and his K-9 dog Cooper assisted Brick police. The dog did a track, which led away from the building.

"We believe the suspects may have had a vehicle," Kinney said.
