Ordinance expected to be introduced at Jan. 30 meeting

      Brick Township Councilman Anthony Matthews expects to introduce an ethics ordinance soon that spells out the right and wrong way for township officials and employees to behave. The need for an ethics panel and an ethics officer is long overdue, Matthews said early this week.

Puppies rescued from Georgia gas chamber
      The Associated Humane Societies in Forked River has rescued nine hound/lab mix puppies and three adult dogs, which were about to be euthanized in gas chambers in Georgia. The puppies, which are between 10 and 12 weeks old, and the other dogs, are expected to be up for adoption shortly.
