Local recruits graduate from police academy The recruits of the Ocean County Police Academy's Basic Police Training Class No. 88 and the Special Law Enforcement Officers II Class No. 21 marked the end of their initial training during recent graduation ceremonies. Both classes graduated at separate ceremonies on May 24. The guest speaker at both ceremonies was Manchester Township Police Chief William Brase, who is serving as president of the Ocean County Chiefs of Police Association. The graduates from the Brick Police Department are Brian W. Farnkopf, James J. Kelly, Scott C. Smith and William Vendrell Jr.
