Special 'unit' contract approved by BOE BRICK TOWNSHIP - The Board of Education recently approved a new contract for 14 district employees, known collectively as the "Unit." The employees in the Brick Township Association of Non-Certificated Supervisors and Administrative Secretaries will receive a 4 percent salary increase, effective July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008. The employees' last contract was a three-year deal that expired June 30. The Board of Education approved the new contract by a 6-to-0 vote at a special meeting on June 25. Board member Allen Atheras was not present at the meeting. Among the positions in the "Unit," are the supervisors in the cafeteria, custodial, garage, grounds, human resources, maintenance, payroll and transportation departments and three secretaries. - Danielle Medina
