Local woman taken to trauma center after two-car crash
BRICK TOWNSHIP - Three persons were injured in a two-car crash on July 12 on Herbertsville Road near Route 70, police said.
Lauren N. Stanley, 22, had to be extricated from her car and was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center Trauma Unit in Neptune with pelvic and facial fractures and internal injuries, police said.
Kyle E. Kleme, 22, a passenger in Stanley's car, was taken to Ocean Medical Center with shoulder and head injuries, police said.
Stanley and Ryan Wood, 17, Brick, the driver of the other car, were both traveling west on Herbertsville Road when the accident occurred at 11:45 p.m. on July 13. Both cars failed to merge properly at an area of the roadway where the two lanes become one. Wood's car entered the eastbound lanes of travel. Both cars continued going west and entered a curved portion of the roadway. Ryan's car encountered a vehicle traveling eastbound and attempted to re-enter the westbound lane, where his car collided with Stanley's. Stanley's car left the roadway from the force of the impact and struck a tree, police said.
Samantha Schaber, 17, Brick, a passenger in Wood's car, was also taken to Ocean Medical Center for treatment of chest and shoulder pain.
